Ever since 1999`s "Prayer Cycle" by Jonathan Elias, I`ve been waiting and waiting for his next album... and it`s finally here! His new release "American River" features collaborations with Rosanne and Johnny Cash, Emmylou Harris, and Kris Kristofferson and blends "intricate melodies, modal harmonies, and virtuoso instrumental solos." In fact, I read somewhere that Johnny Cash`s contribution on this CD was his very last recording ever made - WOW. I really don`t know where to begin to describe Elias` work... it`s just phenomenal. This man has worked on film scores for Alien, Altered States, and Back to the Future as well as with artists such as Duran Duran, Alanis Morissette, and B.B. King... that just says so much about him. The best thing about his music is that people of all ages and from all different lifestyles can enjoy it. If you`ve heard of him, what do you think of his work??
