lothe? no. Yamaha is like the Walmart of metal stuff. Bikes Motercycles instruments lawnmowers bla bla bla. Here is what I know about there horns. They are good solid horns. there light weight and well balanced (in most cases) and have prety good response. Personally I wouldnt buy one because for a simelar price you could get a getzin or conn horn and I think that as far a s production horns go they are a little better. What are you using it for and what kind of prices are you looking at? I might have a couple good recomendations for you. (i have been playing for close to 25 years now and have played a lot of diferent horns.) I am sure somone out there will tell you that yamaha are the best thing since bread and butter and for them they might be. Have you played one you really like?

Yamahas are great student horns but lack solid professional horns. They are supremely consistant in quality, even if that quality is mediocre.

G'day
Yamahas have a tendancy to fall apart on you so beware. For the Price I would buy a Conn and did

I've had a yamaha since i started playing and havent had any major troubles with it.. mostly stuff to do with what i was doing wrong! But the tone quality isn't as good as some other troms like conn and stuff (i thought it was just my dodgy playing) but maybe it is the trom. They arent too bad in my opinion but if you can try out some different ones to see what you like. Its really about what you personally feel is better.

I don't know about yamahas falling apart, my yamaha is about 35 years old, and as far as i know, its had no major problems. Now, its not the best trombone i have, i like my bach 42t and king 3b's better, but i use my yamaha consistently, usually for ska or marching/outdoor performances. i never plan on getting rid of it, however, i wouldnt use it if i wanted my absolute best sound.
