define cheap....
ebay can have some deals but it's risky. OTJ classifieds and the Advertisements section on the forum sometimes have some good deals. if you're really serious, contact DJ Kennedy via the OTJ forum. he can usually help you out.

i'm afraid not. winchester is not too close to where I live. I live in Norfolk. There are plenty of great shops if you want to buy a guitar, but if you want a horn, you're out of luck. thanks anyway

it's all good.. it seems that unless you live in a few select major cities, if you want to try out good horns and have a decent selection, you are gonna have to take a road trip.
I bought my 3B sight unseen through Dillon Music, because I knew i could return it if something was wrong. I got lucky, it turned out to be a great horn. It's a shame we have to do that though. when i get the money saved up for my next horn, i'll probably take a trip straight to the factory. but hopefully, it will be the last horn i buy for many years.

honestly, not to sound like a smart ass, you just don't.
Tablature gives string and fret numbers. if you're gonna waste the energy translating string and fret to a note, you might as well read the darn music.
and as a bass player, you really should learn to read music and get away from TAB.

back when i started playing bass when I was 15, i got sucked into reading tabs... it wasn't till many years later that i had to go back and relearn how to read. (even though i read bass clef already, applying it to the bass guitar is not so easy)
that's why i'm so adamant about not messing with tabs in the first place.
it was a hard habit to break.
