Does anybody have any suggestions on what the best trombone on the market would be? Bach is pretty good, my private instructor told me Getzen and Edwards were the best, and their pretty much the same because Gezten owns Edwards.

Thats really all a matter of opinion. Sure Getzen and Edwards makes some pretty awesome horns, but they are really expensive. Bach and Conn are just as good, the differences that I've been able to see is the fact that they are a little more popular probably because of their price (roughly 1500-1000 dollars cheaper than edwards/getzen). It all boils down to the individual. Horns are like..well, mouthpieces, not everyone can use the same mouthpiece and be as equally as good as someone else. same with horns, what may be good for me may be horrible for you. So it depends on you.
Now Getzen and Edwards has somewhat more quality and more options for their horns. Like you can make your horn anyway you like, from gold bells to satin bells down the the leadpipe and everything in between.

If you're looking for a great horn, I would recommend either the Conn 88-H or the Yamaha Xeno 8820. I personally play on a Yamaha Xeno and it has brought me much satisfaction. I'm a third year trombone major at my university. I find that the comfortable rotor valve trigger and small size of the instrument is one of it's perks. It has a large bore mouthpiece receiver and an 8 and 11/16th's inch bell. slightly larger bell than the Conn. The slide width is narrow (unlike the Bach and Edwards). This creates a less bulky feel, yet still maintains the "professional" standards of other competing horns. I have thoroughly enjoyed playing on the Xeno and if you choose to get it...I'm sure you won't be disappointed at all!

Too late, I already got a Getzen 3047 - AFR Custom Series. With an awesome red brass bell. And I'm thinking about getting a Megatone Mouthpiece with it two. I luv it! ^_^
