Kinda stumbled upon this site and hope to get some opinions and such.
Well, I'm planning to take up either violin or viola lessons.
Since I'm in my late teens, I think I should be using a 4/4 violin right?! What about viola?
My uncle bought this violin 20 years back , brand's Parrot and I think it's made in China. Is this a standard violin to start off with? As in the sound qualities and so on... Or should I get a new violin? If so, any to recommend? Something that's not too expensive. I know there is this brand, Prillante... is it good?
Besides the size and sound difference between violin and viola, are there any other that I should be aware of? If I were to start with either one first, is violin a better choice?
Oh, I play the piano and a couple of brass instruments ... just thought I'd add this if it's of any help.
