I am in the process of purchasing a new violin. Would someone please give their opinion as to which of the two following brands would be best: A Morgan Monroe Bean Blossom vintage oil finish that has been quoted to me for $499.00. My other option is a Meizel for $450.00.

I dont know any of the brands, but if I was you, I'd test them both before you buy one of them. See which one you like best. Play on them and see which you think will be better and will give you the options you are looking for.
