Hello I have short arms and haw a very long bow. Thus when i play the notes that should be on the tip, its not on the tip because of my short arms.

I was wondering if I should buy shorter bow? Does the length of the bow has an impact of me playing well or its just natural that some violinist really cant reach the tip of their bow when playing?

Hope anyone can help me . Thanks.

no you can and should buy a shorter bow. if you can not reach the tip of your bow on those notes then when you try the bow will no longer be in line with the bridge as it should be and it will sound bad. and this will just happen, because naturally you can't reach it, not through any fault in your technique. buy a shorter bow, they do come in different lengths and this will make your playing more comfortable. it will probably improve your sound. it can be quite difficult too to play at the tip of the bow and sometimes a bit of practice will help.

When you play some pieces, you will need to be at the tip for some different kinds of strokes. I would see what shops have for you, so you can be comfortable. Just don't get it too short because some pieces have three measure slurs and stuff at a pretty slow tempo that you will want a decent sized bow for.
