Hello everybody !

It's been a while now that our old friend, the classical violin, has been making excursions into a lot of other music styles, which is a very good thing, I think.

But other music styles (like jazz, rock, pop, ska,...) frequently have other sound-ideals than classical music.

So I, as a violin maker wanted to create an instrument with another, a "new" sound to open up new horizons for violin playing in other styles than classical.

After several years of experimentation and research I came up, not with a modified violin, but with a new instrument altogether - which can still be played like a violin, but not exclusively.

If this little presentation has made you curious, please take a look at the website, where you can see, hear, and also try out this instrument.

Isn't it just a fretted violin? I thought they already made those. No offense but i don't see what is so different about the sound too.

Ya, they made those things since the baroque period. Its called a treble viola da gamba

<Added>

Well, maybe it is kinda new because the viola da gamba was tuned in fourths, but still not an original idea. Sorry

Maybe try to make the violin a different shape to make a new sound?

 Newer: Cello/Violin rosin mixup... I`m absolutely muddled
