Hello,
I am contemplating buying a 5 string electric violin, but I don't know anything about electric instruments. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what brands to go with or what ones are good? I don't have a lot to spend, around $500 is what I can do, so I know I'm not able to get anything that is pretty decent. But if all the violins for $500 are bad that i would just not get one.
Thanks for your help
Chad.

OK, thank you for your help. That's what I was afraid of. I'll see if I can spend a little more. Thanks again.

read a lot of reviews of the violins you're looking to purchase.
i agree with the person above saying that you probably will have to spend more to get a better quality one.
but if you're just beginning to learn, then i think if you wanted to go a bit cheaper you could probably find something in your price range that will work fine for you.
like i said read a lot of user reviews though. sometimes you may be able to find something with in your price range and just replace some things. get new strings, perhaps a new bridge?
i don't know too much about electric violins as i play traditional. but research will be your best friend right now
all the best!
