I heard that there are three types of vabrato.
Finger, wrist, and arm... or something like that.
What is the difference?
Which is harder?
Which do you learn first?

Everyone just develops their own style of vibrato really.. I think the most common is arm vibrato (when your whole arm moves) and some hand vibrato where just your hand moves.

When you are playing very high on the instrument you have to use hand vibrato more so than arm.

Vibrato is not an easy thing to learn, but I think its very individual. I don't think one type is "easier" than another..

I think I use arm vibrato..

-some of his videos might explain vibrato for you

Hope that helped!! If you google vibrato or search on youtube you can find some helpful stuff that will help you learn vibrato

When I first asked my (then) cello teacher about vibrato, she said wrist vibrato is for the violin and the cello uses forearm vibrato.

I'm only aware of wrist and arm. Most people tend to develop their own vibrato but either way your going to use your arm or wrist. Most people tend to use the arm but i prefer wrist. But it would be great if you ere to leanr both types. I think its simpler to use a wrist vibrato when your in first position up to third position. but once you get to the much higer finger positions like fifth or sixth it would be better to use an arm vibrato simply because it would be difficult to move your wrist at all. Practice an arm vibrato and if you want, try out a wrist vibrato.

here is a link to a great site for you to learn some simple exercises.

Ok listen please...and listen closely,
Wrist and arm are VERY KNOWN..
the problem is, I've heard of finger...and it's ridiculous...
i've seen people play and they tell me it's finger vibrato..and it's like....they shake their whole instrument..
The point is to make a beautiful sound...not to slaughter their instrument..
Only focus on wrist and arm....they are for fast and slow vibrato....
