Hi! I just got a violin today (about five hours ago), and I can play 5 songs out of my book. I'm teaching myself for now (until the summer, when I will get a teacher). But, I was just wondering... does the majority of violinists play five songs in the first five hours?

i'm not sure, maybe if you are a savant then maybe. i certainly didn't and i was getting lessons! depends on how easy the songs are i guess. you'll know if it sounds crappy too. if it sounds alright then you're gifted!

if your gifted then i suppose its normal. I had to start with basics when i first began so i didnt even look at any music.

try not to brag to much about it. no one likes a prideful musician

after awhile you'll get more expirence and
then you can play much much more!
just keep on practicing!
