hi I am trying to read the tabs for violin that were provided by another reader for this song by GreenDay- prob is i don't know how to read tabs- but i do know how to read sheet pretty well... would it be for example A1- A string first finger ?

I'm not certain and I don't want to lean you into the wrong direction but i believe that the letter is for the string you play and the number is how many fingers you put on the string. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong but I think that's how you play it.

yes it is! i used to learn suzuki and that is very familiar! just try and get the timing right and you'll be fine.
(so yeah A1 equals b, D1 equals e so on...)
