I just joined my school`s (My school is an Arts school) Grade 9 Jazz band. There`s woodwings, brass, percussion, and than there`s me! I feel very left out and that my sound can`t compete or fit in with the others. I have never really listened to jazz and its my first time trying it. All my strings teachers are totally into classical/ concert music. I find it very difficult. Any tips on how to practice or get better at it without taking away from my current skills? Thanks!
