Hello,

My name is Auldon. I started learning cello a long time ago (10 years or so...), but then I had to quit. Now I want to resume "from the scratch." I've been reading many forum postings about cellos, and I could conclude that we have to avoid "laminated" cellos at all costs. I know that a very good cello (even for "re-begginers" like me)should be at least $1,000. My budget though allows up to $500-$550 only. After researching on-line I have found out these two cello brands: (Palatino and Cecilio CCO series). If you take a look at the description offered, both cellos have solid spruce top, maple back and sides, ebony fingerboard and pegs, inlaid purfling. (Although the Cecilio 500 has ebony tailpiece too, but there is no information about this in regard to the Palatino). By the way, is ebony tailpiece better than an alloy one?
Also, there are two good reviews about the Palatino, but none about the Cecilio (which does not necessarily mean that this one is low quality...that is why I am uncertain about it). The Cecilio cello also offers some free accessories.....
I am still unsure about it. Could you guys help me please?

Thank you so much!
