Is there anything that can keep the strings from fraying at the bridge? Seems to me I saw somewhere small short lengths of tubing around the string where it sits on the bridge. Has anyone tried something like this/ And does it take away from the sound quality.

If your strings are fraying, they probably need to be replaced. If they are fairly new.....I don`t know. ^__^

They are 3 months old, the same age as the Cello. They are cheap strings (super sensitive) and its just the "A" string that is fraying. So maybe the answer is better strings.
Thanks,
