November 1, 2005 is the deadline for receipt of entries in the Co-op Press competition for string performers for their artistic interpretation of the music of composer, Sy Brandon as exemplified in a digital recording of one of the selected competition pieces. A panel of judges will award prizes of $500, $300, and $200 to the first, second and third place winners respectively. The works for this competition that involve double bass are "Affirmations" for double bass and piano or double bass and organ, "Four Cat-Like Moods" for double bass and piano, and "New England Time Capsules" for string orchestra.
