ok chaps,

well i have a lovely Jim Harley 4 seasons acoustic guitar. its coming up for 10 years old and she is beautiful...her name is Lindsey.

a few years ago i noticed small cracks forming at both sides of the bridge:

(hope this picture makes sense but it was the best way i could think to explain it!)

so anyway recently i have got a feeling that one of the cracks at least has got bigger. the cracks appear not to be very deep, and i have suspicions that they don't even go down to the wood itself and are only cracks in the varnish.

i don't have the tuning issues that you would expect if the bridge was coming up...and other than the fact that the cracks can be seen the guitar is performing as well as it always has (it is a beautiful guitar!!)

so what is people opinion, am i going to be strumming along at a gig at some point and the bridge fly off? if so is there anything i can do to stop it before it does? (or anything a qualified guitar tech can do?)

heaps of love JamJar Jacob x

I'm not so sure about it exploding, but you are damaging it, that is clear. You should get it repaired, then you don't have to worry about it.
