Hey! So I'm new...I play piano and violin, and I also write my own songs and do a little singing.
I want to start guitar, and I'm planning on teaching myself-acoustic. Does anyone have any tips/advice?
Thanks!

Guitar shouldn't be that hard if you already know your notes on the piano, but like everything in life, it'll take time Make sure you hold your pick right and hit the strings with the tips of your fingers. http://www.guitartips.addr.com/guitar_playing_tips.html

Thanks! Chords should not be a problem--thanks to 7 1/2 years of piano lessons. Thanks for the site...I also found this one called fretjam.com, which is really helpful!

Thanks so much for taking time to reply...I noticed these forums are kinda slow...not really a lot going on.
Anyways, thanks again!
Look for me in the future to post more stuff.

No problem, I'm always here to help. Even though I'm new here...haha
Thank you to for listening to my singing! But remember that guitar isn't easy, I just gave you the key, but you have to open the door. I probably won't be back here, i'm usually at Harmony Central (the best instrument website ever!) See you later
