How do you play the second part (the broken chords)? Do you use both hands? How can you play all that with one hand?
I`ve stopped having lessons for a while, and I can play the first part just fine, can someone help?

Well, I suggest you to start your lessons again. You`re going to need to play some parts finger over finger. And it`ll take a lot of practice. I started learning Clair de Lune a couple months ago and I`m only half way through (where the flats end and the sharps begin) and I still need a lot of practice on the part you`re talking about. Good luck!

I thought I`d learned this once but I tried again last night and now remeber how tricky it is. I suggest listening to a recording to give a good idea how it should sound. I would bet your early attempts will sound nothing like - especially without lessons to guide you.

It`s a great piece though.

I`ve just remebered that my score didn`t have fingering to help. However my teacher at the time had a Yamaha Clavinova which comes with demos and an accompanying book with a score which does have fingering. So if you know somebody with a Clavinova.........

the second part of clair de lune is pretty easy if u figure out da pattern, u start the chord with your left hand and continue with your right, but i don`t think i ever crossed over. as for after that when you have those run thingies with just your left hand, go up with your left and then go back down with the same fingers on the same keys u went up with (i hope i helped out)

I havent played very long...but always wanted to learn this piece..for myself crossing over is the best way...my teacher would say do what seems easiest to play it..I like to stick with whats written either for bass or trble clef..left and right hand repsectively

Just consider you`re devoting you thumb and forefinger of your right hand to playing the runs. The higher melody part can be played with the middle finger to the pinkie.

hey ive been playing claire de lune for a few months and only hav e a few months until my exam, i suggest that you start with your left and then continue on with your right keeping your weight in the upper right hand so you have the melody clear. PLay it as slowly as possible to teach your muscles exactly what they need to do. It`ll get easier trust me!

I haven`t taken piano lessons for about a year now - and I consider my self about to be advanced. What about tackling this piece? I know it`s SUPER HARD (I looked at the notation), but I really really want to play it.

Thanks,
Liberty
