Hi,

I bought a yamaha keyboard about a year ago and have been having fun learning but would like to progress further so I'm thinking of buying a digital piano and getting some lessons.

The features that I want are:

- Acoustic feel hammer action keys
- As realiistic piano sound as my budget allows
- 3 foot pedals included
- Headphone output
- At least a few alternative sounds

I have found the following pianos that suit my criteria:

- Yamaha YDP131
- Yamaha CLP220
- Roland HP101ERW
- Yamaha DGX620
- Casio PX700

Does anyone have any experience with any of these models or are there any other models I should consider.

My budget is about in the £500 to £700 range although this is slightly flexible.

Thanks.

Hey!

I have a Yamaha CLP270. It has 480 different sounds and the touch is magnificent, because it has a GH3 keyboard (I think the 220 has this too). This GH3 is the best you can wish for, as it almost resembles a real piano.

The best thing to do is go to a music store, take some sheet music with you and just try all of them.

Lots of succes.

I have a Yamaha P-70 which you can get for around $600us and its great for the price. Great realistic piano sound, gh3 graded hammer system, portable enough, i recommend the fc3 foot pedal with it which is about $50. the wooden stand is $200 usually. but yeah, its great.

Thanks for the advice guys.

I think I'm gonna try and demo the Yamaha P-70 and CLP220 to see how they compare.

I also stumbled across the Casio AP80R (http://www.reidys.com/index.pl?submit=View_PLU&PLU=4232 ).

How do the Casio Celviano Digital Piano's compare to the Yamaha Clavinova for sound quality and feel?

Thanks
