My band director was gone for a day, so we had sectionals during band.
Becuase I'm the section leader, I was put in charge of the percussion section.
NONE of them would listen.
One went ot hang out with his friends and I had to go get him twice.
He was being sneaky and said his percussion tom tom part fit with the brass, whitch it didn't.
One girl was trying to help me, but she started yelling at everyone.
Another was tring to boss everyone around but she wasn't telling them to do the right thing.
One was whining and complaining.
We never completed any work and on top of that, they
COMPLETELY HUMILIATED ME!
Well thats lame, that kind of sounds like my perc. class. I'm in 8th grade so we have like 18 percussionist trying to take control of everything if there is a substitute.
hey i have the same problem my school district is really into drumming so we have about 18 drummers in the 7th grade and i have to lead those hogs around and i have to do it all the time and they always screw up so i lose points on my grade which is bad and i found out if you make friends with the leaders of some of they're packs you get respect from all of them so over all the chaous is toned down so i hope that helps good luck
from what ive witnessed (thankfully not experienced; i dont play trumpet thank God) that is just about a perfect description of the hierarchy of our trumpet section. in other words, total anarchy.
my percussion class doesn't really act all crazy but some of them just suck and think they're really good. It kind of annoys me because me and this other kid are way ahead and we have to keep going back for everyone esle. the only good thing is that its so easy i play everything perfect so my grade is really high.
