I got This Opprotunity to be the drummer for our choir and I need some new cymbals because mine are to sharp and pingy but i was wondering what kind of cymbals would recomend? If it matters my favorite brand is sabian.

I play rack for marching band, and my brother has a drum set [he's not a percussionist] so I'll give it my best shot:
~ Hi-hat
~ Crash (16" - 18")
~ Ride (20"+)
~ Splash (About 6" to 10", screw them on firmly.)
~ China (If you like. They sound pretty cool.)
(Also, keep a cymbal bag with you -- they're heavy when you get the cymbals in, but they help out a bunch.)

Zildjian and Sabian are my recommended brands. Sabian makes good rides and crashes, while Zildjan makes good splahes. Hi-hats I haven't had much experience with, so you're on your own.

If you like Sabian then look at their HH cymbals. AA's tend to be bright and penetrating. The HH's tend to be fuller and warmer.
