Man the movie is awesome, and It pumps you to play if not it something else with a lot of rythym and double rolls, triplets, and tie stuff together to try to make a kickin beat. but really that stuff is not hard to learn, I play trumpet mostly and a little drum and I learned all the drum parts except the solo cuz my left hand is dead lol. Ok....heres my input on the whole drumline movie...i like the movie..i mean they do have some funky music. Any drummer out there sholud like the movie...but here is the downside--Nick Cannon--i don`t think he honestly played in the movie..niether do i think he is as good as the movie portrayed him to be..but i really don`t know bc i wasn`t there---second--if he really could play the music in the movie then why don`t they show his whole body in the movie playing......if you will pay close attention to the movie it either shows from his stomach up or his hands down...it NEVER shows his hands playing on the drum. I also read another post that said he went to a drum camp to learn the stuff......whatever...get real...it would take years to get as good as the movie portrayed him to be....drumming is not something you can learn in a week. So don`t get me wrong when i talk about the downsides....i still like the movie and i still like some of the cadencesin the movie!!!

people i can play some of the drum line music i taught my self. like the time deven trys not to look down and the director swore at him and stuff that is so easy to play!

First, I agree with Paul I don`t think Nick Cannon played none of that. Second, I disagree about learning to play the drums quickly. I play sax last year and this year i learn to play drums over the summer.

P.S. This is for all those who think "Drumline" was stupid. First of all it was amost based on the movie director and second just because your school plays crappy music dosen`t mean another school is like that. there are people in the world that are just like people in the movie
