I was wondering if Gammon drums are good for a starter? I found some on ebay and was just wondering. thanks.

They pretty much sound god-awful....I had a friend that got a pair.

If you`re just starting out get pacific or pearl since those are useful later on since they work on both a professional and starting level.

If you don`t mind reinvesting your cash later and you are really just starting out....go ahead and get em.

I bought a set for myselft - getting back into playing - and I think they are great for the money - a lot less money than some other sets out there. Suppose if you wnat to spend a grand, you will get more, but for $300 - I am very happy.

Yeah, I was happy with thm - bought them for my teenage son and he banged them pretty good and they held up. Maybe he will get a more expensive set in a few years or I will let him play my old Ludwigs.
