are the fingerings for all the notes the same?? i am supposed to be switching over soon adn i need to know if i need to get a fingering chart adn start learning the new notes...PLZ PLZ PLZ HELP!!!!

Relax. The fingerings are the same. And advice from one who's made that switch, don't get discouraged, it takes a little getting used to.

Have to agree with you,
It takes getting used to. But All fingerings are same. But it might take a bit more of air.

more air, diffrent parts, fingers reach more, mouth peice size and getting used to new scales, thats it.

i agree.. my band director tried to make me change and the only thing is, it's heavier.(sp?) so if you have back problems then i wouldn't change.

ya, when you switch from alto to tenor, u need more air, and its a little different omature(however you spell that), but the fingerings always stay the same. i changed from alto to tenor 3 years ago, i like the tenor alot better...my personal preference is it sounds more soothing then alto.
but ya dont get discouraged, keep trying, and it will come to ya
