Evening everyone!
Recently i just picked up my soprano ...again... and had to put it away for the pure fact that even though I had played the Alto for about 5 years and I know the fingerings, whenever I try to reach anythign higher than the scaled F#, the sound and tone just disentigrates. Remember the sounds that you made when you were just learning how to play...those are about it.
However, I`m at a loss as to why im sounding that way except possibly the position and form of my lips to the mouthpiece. (I know there is a proper term for that but it`s been awhile..) I have a...E.M. Winston, and Vandoren 2 reeds. The saxophone was a gift to my mother when decided to give it to me so thats the reson for the reed number.
To make a long story short (too late...right?) if anyone can tell me how to reposition anything, get somethign else...HELP!

I recently went from tenor to soprano and i had the same problem. all i can say is that you might either be blowing too hard or that you might need to go to stronger reed. if that doesn`t work then, keep pracising.
