Does your school have a choir? I`ve never taken professional lessons, but I`ve been in choirs since fourth grade (I`m now in 11th) I was in a community choir for 2 years, and then when I got to jr.high and high school, I joined the school choir. I have sooo many great memories from choir. We went to Chicago together last may and had a blast. It`s not just the singing aspect that`s fun in choir, I`ve learned more than just how to sing notes.Otherwise, check around your area to see if there is a community choir or a church choir (if you`re religious).

Try to find some good vocal coaching book to learn some tricks. There are some people who think that these books are just easy way to earn money for writters. Well, I can`t agree with them. Of course they don`t tell everything but many tips and tricks are very useful especially for beginners. Try to find some in Amazon.com or barnesandnoble.com . I`m going to buy Seth Rigg`s: Singing for The Stars Speech Level Singing. I have also few Rodgers Loves books. And buy the way ,try to learn also basic Sol-fa then other musicians will respect you more and won`t say ``Hey, he`s just a singer``.
