Is it possible to teach myself how to sing without any of the programs or lessons? I play the piano and can sing along with songs pretty easily.

Of course it's possible, I've been singing ever since I could speak, and up until last year I had never had any form of lessons, and I only statred taking lessons because I can take up another instrument for free in my school once you start GCSEs and I chose to take my singing more seriously rather than it just being a hobby. People used to think I was lying when they heard my voice and I told them I had never had vocal training. I think that as long as you have a good ear and can sing relatively in tune then all you need to do is practise, practise, practise. Also don't be afraid of notes you can't hit, just go for it, unless it hurts, then stop!! that might seem obvious but you'd be surprised how many people would continue, bu tit can seriously damage your voice. Also experiment with different styles and genres of music. As far as I'm concerned the sky's the limit. Keep me posted on how things are going.

My favorite type of music to sing is Broadway, so I think it leaves a broad range for developing my voice. I'm interested in joining school plays, so this advice will help. Thanks very much !
