i've been saying for like 2 years that i wish i could sing, so now i'm taking some initiative
where would be a good place to start, any help possible would be helpful
ps. i want to sing for a band, as in actually sing, not scream
favorite vocalists include freddie mercury, robert plant, jim morrison, anthony keidis, john mayer

Hello! :D Probably beginning voice lessons would be extremely helpful, and probably the quickest way to see dramatic results as far as improved technique and range. But a good place to start would be to just sing more. Sing anything, from Happy Birthday to random spurts of opera. Sing in the shower, while on the treadmill (that might be kind of hard though ), driving to work, anywhere and everywhere.

ive been telling my rents that ive wanted to sig and have singing lessons,but they did the whole parent thing where they pretend to like the idea,and then make you forget all about it....so,i just started singing in the shower and singing with the radio,and it does help,and i might not be the best singer ever,but i can sing...just remember to have fun with it...im still young and have a long way to go...but i might make it...lol

lol...i think singing for a band would b fun...do u play an intsurment..?because playing an intsrument helps with pitch and hearing the note u sing so that u hit the right note...
i lpay the flute,tuba,perfecting the trumpet,and i want to shoot for tenor saxophone next...
