I was wondering what people had in mind for their favorite American Folk Tunes/Songs, especially those that go back to the beginning of our country. I am going to compile them and make a small suite for piano. Any suggestions would be helpful.

Thank you for your suggestions. Actually, Yankee Doodle might make a good theme for a march.

Two of the most notable folk artists of the twentieth century are Woody Guthrie, and Pete Seeger. Check them out on line through one of the search engines. Also type in American Folk Music.
