Hi everyone, just wondering about atonality and surrealism in general. I'm not a huge fan of it, because there I find it hard to interpret. Are there other styles of atonality or anything in between? What is your view on it?

Expressionism and Serialism are atonal. We just studied them in music...personally I don't really like them. They're a bit too weird for me, and I'm not really keen on the angular melodies and dissonant harmonies....I prefer tonal music!!!

Is that what you meant?

Yeah, thanks. I agree that they sound weird and I don't really like atonal pieces.

A lot of expressionist music sounds like some kid with very little natural artistic skill sat down and played random notes on an instrument...

I had nightmares after hearing one piece by Schoenberg...ewkk
