I've played Hounds of Spring, Golden Jubilee, A Jubilant Overture, Chorale Prelude in Em, El Camino Real, and Serenade for Bb Clarinet and Concert Band (as the soloist =D) I think he is great.
Reed is a fine composer, but to place him as one of the best of all time... I don't know. He is probably one of the better contemporaries (though he is now past away).
Beethoven, Mozart, Dvorak, Vivaldi, Bach and other such composers can't be discredited. Those, I believe, are the truely legendary composers.
