Since sports in Tampa FL stink right now, and it's getting darker earlier, I'm playing piano more, and starting to write what seems to be turning into a semi-elaborate suite...

I'm developing a melody working off a Dm9 to a Fm9...which affords a certain amount of chromaticism. Throwing in a Bb7 (or fancier) gives another tonal variance using essentially the same chromatic shift to the modality.

Eventually I resolve to a Cmaj7, which leads into the 2nd portion of the suite...
