Hey I'm play a four valve yamaha tuba. I was just wondering if anybody can play a pedal Bb. I can do what should be a low B natural if you use all the valves cause ive done the math. I DONT mean the Bb that is only two ledger lines below the bass clef i mean like 7 or 8 lines or something like that like the lowest Bb/A# on a full size piano. If anybody knows how to play it that would help.

Yes, I can play one. I can also play several notes below it. It is a very difficult note to learn. The thing about pedal notes is they don't always use the same fingerings as upper notes. You should take your playing to a tuner, because even though you are using a B natural fingering, you could be playing a few notes.
To help play the pedal Bb try to play the tuning (low) Bb, and try to relax your lips until you pitch lowers and lowers. By the time you play the the Pedal Bb your lips will be barely touching the mouthpiece. It took my years to be able to get down to that pitchm so just practice.

If you could get ahold of a 3/4 sized tuba to practice on it will be easier. It is much easier to play a pedal Bb on a 3/4 size at first. And when you learn it on a 3/4 it is an easy transition to a full size. (Yamaha tubas really do suck, so it is a little harder to get one on a yamaha)
