have you seen the trombone jokes my god they are offensive! "how many tromboneists does it take to screw in a light bulb 5 one to screw in the light bulb and 4 to make sexual comments" does not even make sense and way to volgur what do you think?

I don't know... I've noticed (at least in my band) that it's the trumpets and percussion, and everyone BUT trombones making those kind of comments; which get REALLY old REALLY fast.

I suppose they think is is all in good humor. like:
"how can you get the 4 dumbest guys in one room? Book the tuba quartet." Don't be bothered by the jokes.. They're Harmless.

Musicians are like everyone else... aka, they can and will diss people. There are some very funny string jokes I can tell though, if anyone is interested.

I was told a story once about how a brass section was once having a very long rest in a piece. The conductor looked up and saw - the entire brass section was gone.
Down the pub.
With about 10 bars until the brass's entry the conductor looked up again - still no brass.
He couldn't bear to look as the brass entry was due.
They came in exactly on time having got as much beer as possible down them 
Brass players are awesome

I know what you mean, I play clarinet and I always make fun of the my loser friends who were "forced" to play their trombones
