Hey, I have been called a metal head by all of my friends on multiple occasions due to things like "Dude, youv`e been to 4 metallica concerts, 6 Cannibal Corpse, 2 NIN, 3 Dimmu Borgir, one Docken, and a Slayer concert" but i was sorta thinking to myself, pretty much all of what I loved in music, way back from Jimmy himself, through the days of the eagles and Doors Clapton and etc., and though of that after the days of our good ole relaxed "Tripping" music to the metal days evolution, whcich changed the core of rock to something hideous though satisfying compared to its old self, one though popped into my head. What of what could be called Industrial Rock, or Industrial Metal? I mean, every evolution of the music added at LEAST one attribute, but it seems more or less that the heavy metal crowd needed somewhere to go after grunge crushed metal itself almost out of existence, longed for a headbanging almost kinda sorta moshpit environment and said "Rock Rave" hence industrial being born. I mean, sure pretty much all teh industrial artists hit it big in...say... a mortal combat music write off, but what was accomplished? Other than undirected anger in an unhealthy medium of nonexistent lyrics that make you want to tear your eyes and ears out. Really what i think i was trying to latch onto is, WHAT HAPPENNED TO GOOD OLE CLEAN ROCK EVEN NORMAL METAL WOULD BE SATSIFYING NOW THAT EMO AND EYELINER PUNK IS WONING US METALHEADS.

I ABSOLUTELY AGREE! Slayer and Cradle Of Filth and all this other modern stuff, can never ever compare to old-fashioned stuff like Led Zeppelin and Van Halen.

The problem is that modern bands, and dumb*** fans as well, are obsessed with one thing, and only care about one thing; Heaviness, to which I raise two big middle fingers.

And the first time you accuse them of listening to stupid music, they automatically call you a pu**y, who can`t handle how heavy their music is. I can handle the heaviness, I just can`t listen to music built on heaviness alone.

I listen to bands like Faith No More, Queensryche, and Soundgarden, all relatively recent bands, and I hear their lyrics and I`m mesmerized, and I also think `How did songwriting that good, dissapear so quickly?`

Listen to Maiden people, these guys have survived everything, they are heavy but still manage to display awesome instrument work and vocals and they are still going. In fact there last release was a pretty good album.

Metal Fans have dragged metal to the grave. Fans are the real sell outs not the bands for example Metallica because of doing something they believed in like fighting against a big Corporation of internet p2p sharing (napster). They suffered the biggest fan backlashed in all of history. Just because they people couldn't support them in their belief's. And also called them sell outs because of cutting their hair and recent albums. Another example Guns N Roses people believed that axl rose was a big sell out because he continued his therapy for his anger and outrages behavior. and since slash left and buckethead entered guns n roses is not the same and never will be.
