another thing a song political song in my poinion is not supposed to be so subtle, you have to layer a song in metaphors and then people have something to do when they listen to it so they can think about it not just have everything told plainly

you guys are wrong. wake me up when september is not a anti-war song. it`s just explaining what it`s like. I have an uncle that is in Iraq who says that`s not an anti-war song. so before you go saying it maybe you should look at the troops that are in Iraq now.

True, true, but what will their music do other than make top billboard sales? Bush, hate him or love him, isnt going to listen to Greenday and think "Hey, these kids are right, I suck and should resign." furthermore, no one`s going to change their political views because some punk rock, mainstreamed band says they should. I actually had some respect for greenday before they came out with this album, I like dookie and international superhits. but the whole political thing doesnt really flow with their style.
Greenday isnt my type of music AT ALL...but you gotta give them a little respect for making it into the catogory of one of the most well known bands in the world
