i agree with uh heather stop whinin` if they suck or rock you`re never gonna change a godamm thing so sit back relax and just worry about your lifes `cause no matter what your opinion may be......... no one gives a sh** cause no one in the world has the same opinion so.... just fix your self a glass of milk and shut the f*** up if green day is fake or not okay!?!?

i think your right.. and i think their music dont suck. in my opinion of course. they are an old band, still make good songs, are a big influenced for many other good and great bands.. but what i didnt know all that stuff your talking about; the eyeliner, `fight-war` cd. i think that rreallly sucks. but i would also like to know where you read this? or heard of such things? because theres a lot of things and sh*t that circulates around on many bands and that are most of the time lies or rumors. so i say that if there are no proofs of what your talking about, i do not believe you. or it would be just to easy to start rumors. i really hope thats not true. but if it is, they suck. it will be like oasis for me ahah their attitude sucks but they are doing good music and thats why i dont stop listening to them. greenday are good mucisians so i dont think ill stop listening to them either.. ok im kinda starting to get into another subject, lets stop.
I think all y`all who think green day sucks should blow it out your ass! Sure, there new stuff is different from the old, but that doesn`t mean it sucks.And how the hell can a band be fake? They can`t be fake cause they`re making lots of money, butt loads of people like them, and they`re not afraid to share there opinions. To me no band can be fake, unless they copy other bands. Well, anyway, I think Green Day kicks ass and I got hooked on Green Day by Dookie, while American Idiot was out.
I`m gonna defend them here....Green Day Dookie was what started my road to punk heaven.... (after my dad started me on the road Rock heaven with Pink Floyd)and for that alone I defend them. The early stuff was MILES better but hey.... times change... they are successful and they are trying to use that in a positive anti-war anti bush way! And I want politics in my songs.look at rage against the machine....it`s what gave zach his passion and made them soo good live...so yeah...Green Day don`t suck....bless em!
Green Day sucks not because they spoke out against the war (that is a luxury we know and love as freedom of speech), but because they hide under the banner of freedom of speech, without thinking about whether their actions are honorable or not.
They also think that because they`re anti-bush, they automatically deserve to be respected.
I also get the feeling they think they`re innovators of some sort, and that they think they`re the first band to ever protest a president (Not hardly, dumb***es).
Another thing that makes me wonder, is why were Green Day not this political 15 years ago, when they first started out. They could have easily protested President Bush Sr. (a hypocritical pu**y) and President Clinton (A lying scumbag).
Another thing, Billy Joe Armstrong is the single most close-minded, self-righteous, egotistical son of a *****, in rock music today
I love greenday! they make great music and write great songs!

Whatever they say or do about politic doesn`t matter to me, I only care about the music. wether it`s their true opinion or they just say it for money is their thing, as long as their songs are good, I don`t give a damn!

with the rise of "emo" music, green day have sold out in their image with the red and black and the eyeliner and hair and whatnot. they`re music hasn`t changed much though, which is what i don`t like about them at this point. i really like dookie, but everything they did afterwards kinda sounds the same to me. i really see no musical growth in them. ooo they did a rock opera. big !****!in whoop. it doesn`t hold a candle to quadrophenia or tommy. there`s no plot! it could never translate to a movie or script or anything, which is sorta the idea of an opera. oh and those ten minute diddies broken up into 5 bits? yeah done by the who in 1966 on a quick one while he`s away. atleast come up with a new formula! all i can pick up on is it`s about a typical teenaged person. the political theme was a nice try, but that song american idiot is a piece of !***!. and while i think its great there`s a bunch of preteens that hate bush now, it`d be great if they knew why they hated him.
