im not into goth or anything, but i just find depressing songs so much more...

i have a few:
1. A night like this - Smashing Pumpkins (the cure originally)
2. Hallelujah - Jeff Buckley
3. Tightrope walker - Epicure
4. Serpentine - Ani Difranco
5. I could have lied - Red hot chili peppers
well their third album 'alice in chains' is the most depressing in my oppinion. but Dirt is the better album. Anything by staind used to appeal to me. they've got some really depressing stuff, especially on their earlier albums. Also Korn are melancolic* (did I spell it right?). the Album by nirvana, 'Inutero'. it was the last album made befoer kurt commited suicide. thats pretty depressing, but not as much as the bands above.

I agree with that, only if the band made the song just because it was depressing.
But songs that tell a story that happens to be sad are ok.
some bands are just like that. Not everyone in the world wants to make "happy happy, joy joy" music. This world would be absolutaly frightening if they did. lol.
