Once again im steering this forum back towards decent rock one decade at a time lol. I know this thread has been done and I know half the posts will go "I love Nevermind It rocks!". however, I'm really bored so I made this thread.

Nirvana and Pearl Jam were cool. The first thing that popped into my head though was slightly different - Sparkle and Fade by Everclear (probably not exactly grunge, but great album).

Everclear's best album in my opinion was Sparkle and Fade in 1995. Art Alexakis had a similar personality to all of the grunge rockers, but he was probably more of a skater dude decended from the likes of Agent Orange and other skate/punk bands. Songs have a surfer/skater feel, but lyrics more complex like that of Cobain.
