what did you say about punk? well, i`m just joking but you please be careful with things like that. it`s i-net. in real life such words can cost you! As to punk rock you are damn right jon! but like i told simon , punk rock fills you up with a special energy! I can`t say their music is perfect..but look at their performance and texts and image...and Sid Vicious and Johny Rotten!
PS agree with you concerning classical rock! because it`s super! But! you didn`t mention all of them! ha! what about uriah heep? yeah yeah yeah! ROCK RULEZ!

Come on man, you can not realy think the Doors suck do you? They may not be the greatest band ever, but they don`t suck. Manowar, they sucked. Good Charlotte, they suck.

punks arent true rockers. I was just kidding about the doors they are good but like you said the defenitaly arent the best.

we will never all agree b coz without personal taste we wouldnt have variety, but my personal favourite rock group are acdc with bonn scott fronying....

I think that Queen r amazing and Freddie Mercurys Voice and Brian Mays playing r fab but of the bands around today my favourite is by far Muse their lyrics mean so much and their pieces translate so well to the piano.

Rock is a diverse genre .... a completely separate genre of music, so there`s the classics, the metal, the gothic, punk, grunge, alternative.
So, who do you gonna pick?

I think the beatles influence a lot of the genres that Rock has seen. They yhave to be the best. Led Zeppelin, and Pink Floyd follow, and Black Sabbath are the true fathers of Metal. Grunge scene was terrific( I was totally into that in the 90s and late 80s) and bands like Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, AIC dominaterd the scene.
Radiohead is damn good too. And i forget--- The Sex Pistols who again influenced Rock so much with punk.

The aftermath of the Grunge Era has been rather devoid....... Bands like LP, and Limp Bizkit get toooo commercial, sell-out, and are too much into the Pop culture......so screw them.

Rage against the Machine, Foo Fighters and Audioslave are also very good bands, some of my favourites.

At the classics, Jimi Hendrix was exceptional too. So, Rock is just a completely another culture. It ROX!

audioslave, greenday, muse (absolutely awesome live!), creed, nickelback (again awesome live), inme (and again!), him, gomez(not sure how old that is), incubus, skin.

could say more, but just remembered that this is meant to be a favourites thread. Problem is that i like so many diffrent types of music that i couldn`t choose just one or two.
