Hmmm...Interesting. Well, I`ve been playing for 20 over years. I can improvise on the piano and the violin, and the viola, and the cello. That`s all. But I really have to give credit to the classical training that I have had. Without it, i dun think one can improvise that easily. What abt u guys? Whoever can improvise just state yr name here. Good day to all. Yeo! Yeo!

I play the piano. And i love to improvise. I`ve been playing for 12 yrs. My improvisation isn`t all that gd. But it sure sounds better and groovier all the time. I play the trumpet too. But I`m not sure how i can improvise on that. Do u do jazz DW? Since u`ve got a pretty strong classical training? I`ve gone through my grades also. Is that considered classical training?

Well, yap that is classical training. If u`ve been through yr grades and theory and all the harmony crap. I improvise in alot of styles. I can do jazz, blues, jpop, and acc for etc. and on and on...And jazz meaning a few different styles...like swing, jive, bossa nova, samba, bluegrass etc. I`ve been through 3 yrs of jazz training in a local jazz school. And we were taught to memorize blue scales, all sorts of decorations, and rhythmic/accompaniment variations for all types of jazz and blues. It will not be quite possible for me to get the hang of it if not for the classical training that I`ve been through. Caz improvising is not easy peasy, if yr clueless abt. sound and feel. And jazz can be technically challenging at times...Carry on pp...Wich of u guys like to improvise?

improvizing is about grasping either technicaly or sentimentaly the immediacy of a single note in constant motion.without forcefully impose your intent, you carve a path through the unknown allowing your mind to wander without restrain(technical,pseudo-logical,degree differential)either counterpoint or bold romantism(technical density/sonoric opacity)that`s the only time you play your instrument for real beyond your formal degree of mastery.improvizing seems hard when you think of the math first, but when you reach full concentration(distracted, without looking type of concentration that is!!!)you operate at a meta-mathematical level of understanding devancing your own perception and even your teacher`s conception of playing....don`t stop guys i dream of assembling a group of improvizer that could all play on the same mental frequency(30 to 40 musicians improvizing as a whole)(tonal, harmonic whole that is!!)that WILL be possible and maybe you could be there so don`t give up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i can improvise vocally, with words, notes, backing ect. i play many other instruments but i still can`t improvise to a very good standard...there is a HUGE diference between improvising and improvising well.
the only thing that enables me to do that (imo) is that i am vocally trained by ear....that notes just come automatically and im not thinking about which notes or scales i have to stick to...bad part, reading music (but i`m getting there)

all in essence is an intuitive inspiration,an improvization of your subconscious minds.all music, even cogitated music was born in an instant...the supreme link to your art,a link that all the greatest masters had by necessity
