That other thread has got me thinking, so not counting all of the mass produced Chinese flutes on eBay:

Boston area makers:
Haynes (Amedeus)
Powell (Sonare)
Bukart (Resona)
Bukart-Phelan
Brannen
Williams

Other US Makers:
Abell (wood flutes)
Miguel Arista
Jupiter? (does any one know where Jupiter Flutes are made?)
Gemeinhardt
Conn-Selmer (Avanti)
Emerson
Dean Yang
Tom Green

Japanese makers:
Muramatsu
Miyazawa
Yamaha
Sankyo
Pearl
Altus (Azumi)

Would anyone like to help fill in the list?

<Added>

Should add Nagahara to the Boston area list - Galway plays Nagahara now (but then he's got a whole collection of flutes)

What about:
John Lunn
Landell Flutes
Tom Lacy
Jack Moore

Not like I own one of these - way out of my high school price range - but here are some makers not on your list.

Thank you very much.

That's right, John Lunn makes flutes with really artistic looking keys.

And I think Jack Moore used to work for Armstrong?

Doesn't Landell teach flute making classes?

<Added>

I just went to Tom Lacy's website. He's got some really neat designs/ideas. His prices seem very reasonable too. How neat is that to learn about another flutemaker from the US :-)

If we add piccolos to the list, then there's Keefe too. He used to work for Brannen. A friend of mine has one of his piccolos with two different headjoints. Nice picc !!!

This is really on the fringe, but Jim Schmidt who makes JS Gold flute pads (similar to Straubingers) also makes (or made) a flute. However, it is not exactly a Boehm system, but rather a completely new ergonomic design that requires learning a new fingering for many notes.

Yes, one of the students at Patricia Harper's Master Class had a Mateki.

There were 2 Powells, 1 Haynes, 2 Brannens, 1 Mateki, 1 Sankyo, and 1 Muramatsu present

If we add headjoints to the list, then we have Sheridan (nice head, Pahud plays one), Gooseman (didn't work out for me), Drelinger (Alexa Still plays one), LaFin (which is now part of Brannen), and Faulisi.

I actually have a George Koregelos piccolo. He was the owner of House of Woodwinds in Oakland CA. His daughter Angela Koregelos is quite an accomplished flutist.

<Added>

And the 2nd flutist of the orchestra (who normally plays a Powell) has a Koregelos flute as his backup flute.
