A lot of people like yamaha`s and I`ve tried a 450 and found it was exceptionally free-blowing and the intonation was fantastic. I have a friend that owns yamaha`s and she finds the intonation right on. However I bought a Buffet E-11 over a Yamaha 450 because they were both similar to me (honestly liked the yamaha better but I have a theory that the testing one was bad). But I chose the buffet because it was actually heaps cheaper than the yamaha and it was both similar. And I adore the sound of my e-11 very much. It`s very free-blowing, very well built, and beautiful clarinet to own. It has a very rich sound, I was expecting it to be a tad bit sharp because the barrel is about 2 or 1.5 mms shorter than a standard Bb barrel. But when I tuned it, it was right on. Sometimes it can sound stuffy but that`s just my reeds =).

Good luck choosing!
