I`ve been playing Clarinet for 8 years now and I`m first chair in my school orchestra. I`m currently using a Selmer CL200 with a stock mouthpiece, and I`ve grown very dissatisfied with the sound, response, and the instrument in general (not just the mouthpiece.) So I plan to upgrade to a Buffet E11 with a respectable mouthpiece to go with it. What`s a good one for an E11? I`ve heard some bad things about Vandorens (particularly the B45), even though they appear to be by far the most popular. On the other hand, I`ve been told the B45 was practically made for the E11.

Someone unconfuse me!

Hey! I`ve been playing the clarinet for only two years. This is my second year... but since it`s my second instrument, and i knew alot of rythm and notes, learning it was pretty quick. I`m not going to even tell you my first instrument, only that i HAVE to play it in band, but i`m first chair in orchestra. Anyways, the mouthpiece i use is the B45, and it works great for me!

Ok, so I`ve never understood why some mouthpieces are better than others. Are some just cheap plastic, and others are more expensive? Also, many people have yelled at me because I have big divots where my teeth are on my mouthpiece, but when I try to play on a different one, usually a better one, the sound isn`t as good as my current one, I think it`s a vito, and everyone tells me that vito is crappy, but I`ve never gotten such a beautiful sound from any other mouthpiece. I don`t know, maybe I`m wierd.

Hi, I have been playing for 8 years too and heva an E11. Last year my teacher brouhgt about ten different mouthpieces for me to try. I ended up getting the B45 which works out great for me at least. But there were also other students and they did not like the B45, so if you can i would recomend that you try different kindes and see what suits you the best. Good luck
