I should be first chair in my band, but my band director fails to recognize me. Our first clarinets suck and make the band look horrible by playing miserable solos. Don`t you hate it when clarinets in your section play all wimpy and small? I hate it.

in my school, the band director is jsut blind and lets this girl play first chair and all the solos (*she`s also section leader), she sux! anyone in the clarinet section is better than her, and i don`t know why the band director fails to see that,
and no, we don`t have chair tests, the band director jsut decides who`s going to be on what chair
so unfair

people hate me (the clarinet section), and if they really want first chair, then they should practise! it`s not my fault that i got first chair if i practised. it`s their problem if they don`t practise still want first chair, not to mention hating anyone that`s before them

Well, maybe improving yr sight reading . I dun know,,,but it seems that all the first chairs of whatsoever are those who can really sightread brilliantly.

First chair…
I don`t know. I got offered first chair but I thought the bass clarinet was funnier to play so I play second bass clarinet instead. Beside, the first chair is to hard to maintain. I got to keep up my grades in other subjects to.

`Cause the bass clarinet is so much funnier to play. The rich dark sound… And besides, there isn`t as many bass instrumentalists where I live so often I, for example, got to play the baritone saxophone parts.
