Stranger on the Shore

Does anyone know where I can find the B flat clarinet solo for "Stranger on the Shore" for free? I really need it. Thanks a bunch. -Megan

Thanks. I`ve looked everywhere for it! I think a clarinetist named Acker Bilk (?) wrote it in the `50s or `60s. So if you see anything let me know! Thanks again.

megan, i found a copy of Stranger On The Shore at www.ebay.com, one copy is about $1.40 us (are you american?) in Great Britan somewhere I think, + $3.00 ship/hand, second-hand. I also say another for about $1 at ebay. Just do a search under the music category for StrangerOTS... or Acker Bilk. Sheet music is under musical instruments. I even listened to part of the song at Amazon.com!

Thanks for all the info. Yes, I am American. I assumed that since I couldn`t find it for free anywhere, it probably had a copyright on it. It`s pretty cheap so I guess I`ll buy it. Heh heh. Thanks again.

This may seem a bit odd- but i liked the song myself, and what i did was recorded "Mr. Holland`s Opus" and when the girl was playing it with him i watched her fingers and added on to what i saw. If thats any help.

if you get it for free, tell me where. I`m dying for something new and i know that song and think it`s great. If you find any other oldies, share the wealth.

Hahaha. I tried to do that too! I couldn`t get much of anything. I`ve figured out some of it just by playing it by ear though. I still haven`t found anything on eBay, but there are definitely other places to look. Thanks for everyone`s help! -Megan

Everybody, good news! I finally found one on eBay. I won the bid yesterday. I`ll be glad to send anyone a copy through email. The only problem is I don`t have a scanner.
