I saw the Charlie Mingus Orchestra when they were in Oslo, and they said that they had one of the three jazz bassoonists in the world. Well, I saw that guy, and I know one of them must be the guy plaing on "Live at the quick" buy Bela Fleck and the Flecktones. Who is the last guy?Just courius.

 Thanks.

I`d say the guy on the East Coast Tim Price.Saw him a lot with Butch Morris Orchestra.
In New York City playing at Vision Festival.
There`s more though, ever hear of Garvin Bushell or Ray Pizzi.
 Beautiful players all.

I met Michael Rabinowitz when he did a gig in NY. He was using an amplified bassoon. I bought one of his albums where one of the tracks he played while using a guitar pedal.
Makanda Ken McIntyre comes to mind as well, I loved his bassoon playing.

I`m trying to track down Illinois Jacquet`s "Bassoon Blues"

I have Tim Price`s bass clarinet CD, I definitely need to look for his bassoon stuff.
