best brand of bassoon

I`ve looked all over the internet and i couldn`t find an answer to this. i`ve been playing the bassoon for 5 years shortly going on 6 and i figure its about time i bought a profesional instrument. What is the best brand/model of bassoon on the market. which brand is known for their good products. I already know about a lot of the brands but the never really tell how they compare sound wise with the others. Im leaning towards a FOX because with their wide variety of short and long bore instruments plus the optional "thick wall" it seems like I would be able to find one best suited for my playing style. What`s ur opinion on the best brand and/or model of bassoon

also if i did go with a fox what would you suggest. long bore for good sound and intonation or short bore for enhanced projection.

Without a doubt, the best brand of bassoon is a heckel, but with their cheapest model at $23,000 you are unlikely to be able to afford it

I got a used Fox 201 this past year for $9000 and have loved it...try finding one. You won`t regret it

Check out Moosmann, I`ve been playing on a 100A for a while now and it`s been a wonderful instrument. Great intonation, dark tone and huge dynamic range. I`ve also been told it`s a better product than the Fox as well. Keep an eye out for them, it`s a German product and seems to give you more bang your buck than a Fox of similiar quality.

Try to find a used heckel. You should be able to find a used one for under 15 thousand.
