Help me!

[b] Help me feel motivated to play my violin! Im soo busy! And i have to clean my house feed my rabbits and much more! after im done i just dont have the motivation! PLEASE HELP ME! I love the violin and sertently do not want to drop it! So please help me.

Um, sorry to say this, but none of us can make you play the violin when you are not wanting to... if you do love it and certainly do not want to drop it, then you would probably be practicing?...

ya i have to agree with riki there. well for a period of time i was in a situation like yours. so one day i forced myself to practice, then i remembered how much i loved the violin, so i suggest you do that. i dunno, it worked for me

come on, dont stop practicing the violin.
im 40 years old and i practice at least 10 minutes a day, I have been studying for one year, and i have improved a lot. Sometimes, i dont have time to practice, so i play it for 5 minutes, i think that is better than nothing. besides, it is better to study daily (at least ten minutes) than once a week (for an hour , for example), so keep on practicing. !!!!!!

I have the same problem a lot of the time. What you should do is reflect on everything that you've done music-wise and go from there. I'm in NYYS (New York Youth Symphony), so I get very competitive with others, and want to be better. So I practice. Try something like that with yourself.

Another thing; if you're concertmaster or leader of the section (even Assistant principal), that means everyone sitting behind you is relying on you to be the best.

im 21 years old... just start violin 4 months ago...

i learnt violin from teachers before.. but now.. im practising by myself...

im doing computer science at university... i'm busy too .its just so hard to learn music . but i spend my weekends to practice violin for some minutes... and i wont give up.. even just bowing the scale...

Are there any pieces that you like the most? If so, learn it, if not find one and learn it all the way through.

Well, none of us here can make you feel motivated to play. The best I can say is to just make yourself goa nd practice at least 10 minutes a day until you begin to feel motivated.

my advice is practice your violin before some of your other work, or perhaps use your practice time as a break.

I used to be like that. I was good at violin, very good, but i just couldn't be bothered to pratise because i had so much going on. I never used to practice, so i struggled through my lessons. But then one day my mum forced me to practice (lol) and i realised how much i loved it, so i carryed on practicing and now look at me, passed my grade 3 with distinction and starting my grade 4! lol

Hello. I can so understand this. I am a working 36 year old ... I need to contend with piano which I have been playing since childhood and in respect of which I still visit a concert pianist teacher once a week. I also recently started violin lessons - half hour lessons a week!!! When it goes rough workwise and also when the violin sound just makes me cringe because of what I am doing, one tends to want to stay away from the instrument. Same goes with piano - even after a lifetime of playing!! What I tend to do is to discipline in time, even if 15 to 20 minutes. It helps. I would do it between other tasks ... clean the kitchen, wash your hands and play for 10 minutes ... feed the rabbits, wash your hands and play another 10 minutes ... and then use your weekends productively ... I tend to try to put away 2 hours on a Saturday and another 2 hours on a Sunday, during which I spend with my instruments. And slowly the violin playing progresses ... with lots of patience!

Yes, I something get that boring feeling, unlike when I play piano. And, I'm still in school.
